MARRIAGE
Marriage is a special personal and legal relationship between a man and woman arising out of a civil contract. Marriages are valid if licensed, solemnized (formal ceremony held), and registered.
The general rule is if a marriage is valid where performed, then it is valid everywhere, unless it is contrary to the public policy of the state.
