FORECLOSURE

Foreclosure is the legal procedure to collect a debt secured by a mortgage or similar lien.  After, the amount of the debt is determined, the real property is sold to satisfy the debt.  There are two types of foreclosure proceedings:  judicial foreclosures and statutory (or nonjudicial) foreclosures.
